Stepping onto the street on Pine Avenue takes you back in time to troves of treasures and some of the best food in it’s stores and restaurants. Pine Avenue is the center of excitement, shopping and dining on Anna Maria Island whether you have lived here forever or are visiting for a week. (Which is not long enough, by the way!) This street is a portal to two of Anna Maria Island’s historic piers, several unique restaurants and gateway to beautiful homes that are right on the water.

On your stroll down Pine Avenue, you will see many different shops and eateries. Some of our favorites among the strip are Anna Maria Donuts, Poppo’s Tacqueria and Anna Maria Island Outfitters. As you reach the end of Pine Avenue, you will be reaching Anna Maria City Pier which at the end has stunning views of the Sunshine Skyway Bridge atop the horizon and a small restaurant. If you like the idea of dining ON the water, you might want to also check out Rod and Reel Pier which features a two story restaurant at the end of it’s deck.

The charm of Pine Avenue is the way it is bursting with beautiful, colorful and unique storefronts which alone make the trip down to the north end of Anna Maria Island worthwhile.

 Pine Avenue is more than beautiful shops and fantastic food, it is part of a green movement to preserve the history of Anna Maria Island while still bringing modern technology onto the Island. There are four 100 year old buildings along Pine Avenue that represent everything that Anna Maria Island has to offer from Old Florida. By using natural energy sources that were already around them, the Green Village (Pine Avenue) was able to maintain on NET ZERO ENERGY for the first 18 mos. of operation. The Historic Green Village is one out of only 100 approved places world wide able to uphold it’s standards towards energy and earth conservation.
