BLOG: The City of Holmes Beach | Real Estate

One of three communities on Anna Maria Island, a stretch of land off the Gulf Coast of Florida near Sarasota, Holmes Beach is a small town with a population of just over 3,800 people by the most recent census numbers. Seven percent of the town is encompassed by water, making for an active water sports community with plenty of beautiful beach front to enjoy. Despite being a smaller town, Holmes Beach doesn’t shrink away from offering everything that residents could want or need. The place boasts many sites and tropical experiences that you cannot find anywhere else. It has the same unique flair that the rest of Anna Maria Island shares, with a lack of big corporate chains and massive buildings. You’ll find everything here to live safely and comfortably, all while enjoying something different from what you’ll find anywhere else. The health of the local housing sector is showing signs of improvement, but market rates remain lower than they would normally be. So you can definitely find a home at a much lower bargain rate than you would normally expect to pay for property here. You certainly won’t find yourself lacking for options in house size or type. If you do crave the bright lights of a bigger city from time to time, Bradenton and Sarasota are a short distance away. Tampa and St. Petersburg lie a short drive to the North for those wanting the hustle and bustle of a major urban centre. Everything is well within striking distance for any resident, meaning you simply will not go wanting for anything or any sort of experience that you might wish to enjoy. So if you’re looking to move to Florida, don’t get completely caught up only in the listings in the major metropolitan areas. You can often find a terrific bargain in a smaller place like Holmes Beach and enjoy the small town experience while living only a short drive away from everything those bigger cities have to offer.
